Rob Mazurek

Rob Mazurek é compositor de música abstrata, improvisador, cornetista, pintor e artista multi-mídia. É peça importante na vibrante cena musical de Chicago, tocando em diversos grupos como Chicago Underground, Isotope 217, Exploding Star Orchestra, Mandarin Movie, e tendo seus trabalhos lançados por várias gravadoras como Thrill Jockey, Aesthetics, Delmark, Submarine, Mego, entre outras.

Dividiu o palco e colaborou com figuras expressivas do jazz como Bill Dixon, Roscoe Mitchell, Fred Anderson.

Atualmente vive em São Paulo e Chicago. No Brasil se apresenta e grava com sua banda, o São Paulo Underground, que conta com os músicos paulistanos Mauricio Takara e Guilherme Granado (ambos do Hurtmold) e o baterista Richard Ribeiro (Porto).

Mazurek, em conjunto com o Hurtmold, integra a banda de Marcelo Camelo (Los Hermanos).
